2 Power Oils for Face - Helichrysum and Frankincense

A few friends asked what I was doing to my face. They said it was looking good, pores look tight and the marks I have from pimples getting faint.

Could be the exercise regime I started. Could be the stricter sleep hours. But I think it has something to do with me mixing essential oils to my skincare. I use a drop of helichrysum and frankincense respectively for day and night with my moisturiser. Many thanks to a dear Friend who introduced me to these 2 oils for skincare use. She has shared many more tips so I am going to try them one by one. So keep a look out for at this space!

For learning, helichrysum and frankincense also have many uses besides for skin care. Sharing some images for knowledge too.

As usual, you know to contact the Domestic Goddess to find out more. Happy to share!

Top 10 Essential Oil Rookie Mistakes

Starting out as an EO rookie, there are as many misses as hits. My favourite EO personality Jen O'Sullivan sums it all up in her Top 10 EO rookie mistakes. Am guilty of mistake 8!

Here are the 10 mistakes but watch the video at the FB for Jen's best explanations why not to make the mistake.

  • Mistake 10 - Keeping your oils on their sides
  • Mistake 9 - Keeping your oils in sunny places
  • Mistake 8 - Touching the orifice with near fingers (yikes! I did that)
  • Mistake 7 - Overtightening caps or keeping them too loose
  • Mistake 6 - Putting too many drops of EO in the diffuser
  • Mistake 5 - Too scared to use oils besides just automatically
  • Mistake 4 - Overzealous in mixing oil blends together
  • Mistake 3 - Not buying a reference guide
  • Mistake 2 - Keep using the same oil the same way
  • Mistake 1 - Using EO like it is a bandaid

Let me know what is your rookie mistake. Also, text me if you want to know and have your oils. I am at adomesticgoddesswannabe@gmail.com!

Essential Oils 101 - 3 ways to use our oils

How many of you know that there is more to just smelling our essential oils? In fact, there are 3 key ways to enjoy the wonders of our oils:

  • Aromatically -  it simply means smelling the oil or diffusing it throughout the room or space. This is what we call aromatherapy and how the spas always smell like heaven!
  • Topically - on various parts of our body, either via roller balls or drops of the essential oils. But take when using essential oils directly on body parts as there are some ‘hot’ oils (meaning they can burn on skin) that needs to be diluted using carrier oils.
  • Internally - do you know that we can actually consume essential oils? We can put a drop of lemon EO into water, or in a capsule or even sublingually (under the tongue).
Of course, in all situations, make sure that the EOs are used carefully and in the supposed usage form.

Just to share, below is one of my favourite video from Jen O’Sullivan on the basics of EO - Essential Oils 101 in under 20 minutes. She’s my favourite EO expert and I love how she shares just like an old friend would. Watch it here.
